Hospice and Department
Rowcroft hospice services cover the 300 square miles of South Devon and a population of 280,000 and delivers ‘outstanding’ specialist palliative care to this population regardless of diagnosis or circumstance. In response to the growing number of people who will require specialist palliative care in the future we have developed a five year strategic plan to ensure our multi-disciplinary workforce is highly skilled, competent, confident and resilient. This plan includes further developing our nursing workforce, integrating new roles, using technology and developing our skill-mix.
We are looking for a highly motivated senior nurse with significant experience in professionally leading, inspiring and developing nurses. They will take an integrated approach to the delivery and development of palliative care nursing expertise both within the hospice and externally. The post holder will oversee the management of our Inpatient and [email protected] services and also act as deputy to the Director of Patient Care.
In addition to being a senior member of the executive team, they will also manage nursing services that reach out to work in a more efficient and integrated way, making the best use of resources, with clinical colleagues in the NHS and other stakeholders in End of Life Care.
You will have advance communication skills, a relevant degree, and significant experience in palliative or cancer care. In addition, you will have proven line-management skills, experience of managing a budget and ideally experience of nursing in a variety of settings.
If you enjoy a blend of clinical leadership, management and teaching we would like to hear from you. This post will give you the opportunity to enjoy using your clinical skills, whilst leading and managing others in doing the same for the benefit of our patients and their families.
Additional benefits include training, 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, free on site car parking, enhanced Occupational sick pay and much more. For more information on benefits, go to the “Careers” page on our website.
