When does the trip take place?

What do I have to do to take part?
To sign up for this challenge and agree to raise funds for Rowcroft Hospice, complete the online registration form and pay the £299 registration fee yourself. This fee goes directly to our partner organiser, Global Adventure Challenges, upon registration and is non-refundable. You will then need to raise a minimum sponsorship of ££2,700 + £250 Airport Tax and Fuel Surcharge Contribution.
You will need to be able to pay Rowcroft the full amount of your minimum sponsorship eight weeks prior to your departure. This means you will need to have secured sufficient sponsorship in August 2018. This is because Rowcroft must pay Global Adventure Challenges the cost of your trip in good time before you leave. The actual cost of your trip is £1350 + £250 which will be transferred to Intrepid Expeditions to procure flights, accommodation, guides etc. The remainder of your sponsorship then goes straight to benefit Rowcroft.
How does Rowcroft benefit?
We expect you to pay the deposit for the trip yourself, then at least £1350 of the £2,700 minimum sponsorship you raise will be treated as a donation to Rowcroft Hospice. Any additional money you raise will also go directly to the hospice. The funds you raise will help Rowcroft to continue caring for over 2,200 people in South Devon who are living with progressive, life-limiting illnesses. The annual cost of delivering hospice services is £8.9 million and over 70% of that funding comes from voluntary donations like this.
What if I can’t raise the minimum sponsorship?
We will provide you with a fundraising pack full of ideas on how to reach your target. You will also have the support of our Community Fundraising team to answer any queries along the way. However, if you do not manage to raise the funds eight weeks prior to departure you will be able to make up the shortfall yourself, or transfer onto a later challenge, giving yourself longer to fundraise.
There is also a self-funding option available where you pay the costs of the trip directly. If you choose this option, there is no minimum amount you need to raise for the Hospice – just as much as you are able to!
