Meadow of Memories

Celebrate the lives of those we have loved and still love dearly by dedicating a flower in their memory in the most beautiful wild flower meadow in South Devon.

The Meadow of Memories becomes a beautiful and tranquil place, which you are invited to visit at any time. Sit, remember and reflect, whilst enjoying the wonderful array of colourful flowers.

The invitation to dedicate a flower is open to all, not just those touched by Rowcroft’s care.

This year, the following flowers were dedicated to loved ones:

  • Virginia Stock
  • Californian Poppy
  • Linum (Flax)
  • Calendula
  • Borage
  • Gypsophila
  • Sweet Alyssum
  • Cornflower
  • Rudbeckia

Each year we receive some wonderful comments about the meadow and here are some received in 2016:

“It was a lovely mixture of readings, songs and prayer and the soloist was amazing. We will definitely be visiting the meadow and spending time there over the summer and taking more time to remember my lovely mum.” - Sarah
“Thank you for organising the picnic and wonderful service. It was a lovely way to remember my husband and was a way for our four year old granddaughter to say bye to Grandad, who she misses so much! She has asked if we will take her back to see Grandad's flower again.” - Karen
“The event was beautiful and healing. The tone, and the texts used in reflection, poetry and song, was spot on - in my view anyway!” - Jo

The 2017 Meadow of Memories service will be held Sunday 2 July. To see how colourful and beautiful the meadow is during the spring/summer months, please take a look at our Meadow of Memories 2017 gallery.
