Amazing people like you have helped raise staggering amounts to help support local families. This year is your year to make a difference, please read the top fundraising tips below and raise all the pounds you can to support local families to share laughs, tears and precious moments together.

Here are our top five tips on how to get your fundraising on the right track!

  1. Go online
Setting up a be-spoke (!) online donation page using a website such as Just Giving is one of the easiest ways to ask for sponsorship. Once you’ve set up your page, you’ll have a link you can email to friends and family, and to share on your social media channels. It’ll also ask you to set a target, which will help you focus your efforts and encourage people to donate.
  2. Download your fundraising kit
On the ‘Download & Resources’ section of this page you’ll find a sponsor form and poster that you can personalise, print and display at work, home, your local sports club and anywhere else you choose. The more people who know you’ll be riding for Rowcroft the more you’re likely to raise.
  3. Remember to Gift Aid
Ask your sponsors to tick the Gift Aid Box and fill in their full details on your sponsor form. It means that for every penny they donate, we’ll receive an extra 25% from HM Revenue and Customs at no additional cost to you, them or us!
  4. Know your stuff
Did you know we care for three quarters of our patients in their own homes and that it costs £8.8m every year to run our services? Arming yourself with some key information about Rowcroft, and sharing experiences you might have had at the hospice will help people understand how their sponsorship makes a difference.
  5. Get creative
Put the fun into your fundraising by planning some cycle themed activities – like a bake sale (pedal-ova, anyone?) or fancy dress day at work (prepare for the lycra!) Or why not ask your company to match fund your sponsorship, so whatever you manage to raise, you know it will be doubled? An alternative option to traditional fundraising is to encourage family and friends to set up a regular monthly donation, or set up your own. Just £10 each month could pay for a hospice nurse to make a visit to support a family at home, providing practical and emotional support. Set yours up today at
