Registration for The Colour Rush Teignmouth 2018 now open!

21 February 2018

Registration for Rowcroft’s epic paint-fuelled 5k, The Colour Rush Teignmouth is now open!

Taking place on Saturday 12 May, The Colour Rush Teignmouth invites participants to complete a 5k route along Teignmouth beach while getting showered in multi-coloured powder paint.

Once the 5k is complete, participants are invited to take part in Rowcroft’s legendary mass paint throw on the beach (which this year promises to be bigger, better and brighter than ever!) before enjoying an afternoon of music from a host of top local bands and musicians.

Registration is open to everyone over the age of eight-years-old and until 31 March 2018 participants can sign up for only £15 per adult and £7.50 per child.

This year marks the third time Rowcroft’s hugely popular rainbow-coloured 5k has taken over Teignmouth seafront; last year over 700 people took part, raising £56,710 of vital funds for local families.

Chris Murphy, Rowcroft’s Events Officer, explained: “In the last year Rowcroft has supported 679 people living with life-limiting illnesses in the Teignbridge area, and thousands more of their friends and family.

“We are delighted to be able to help raise awareness of these services by returning to Teignmouth with South Devon’s brightest 5k, while giving everyone the chance to spend a day celebrating love, life and colour!

”All those who register to take part in The Colour Rush are encouraged to raise as much sponsorship as possible to support Rowcroft Hospice."

Kate Vickers took part in the Colour Rush 2017, in memory of her dad. She said: "I wanted to raise money for incredible Rowcroft because they made such a difference in the last few months of my father’s life, both in the hospice in Torquay, and at home.”

Entry to the event is open to all over the age of eight-years-old, no matter what their fitness level. It’s not about racing to the finishing line; it’s about celebration, having fun and supporting local hospice, Rowcroft.

Kate added: “I’m not much of a runner myself, but I was able to complete this in my own time, with my friend by my side, in a beautiful location that my Dad loved. I felt great afterwards and knew my Dad would have been proud. This is an event that anybody can take part in and I would encourage people to do so as it is such fun and a day to remember.”

Early bird tickets for The Colour Rush Teignmouth are available for the reduced price of £15 per adult and £7.50 per child until 31 March 2018, before increasing to the general release price of £20 per adult and £10 per child.
