Rowcroft’s Sleep Walk is a sell-out
07 April 2015
Rowcroft Hospice’s annual ladies-only night walk, The Sleep Walk, has sold out of places in record time for the second year running.
The Sleep Walk, which will see more than 2000 ladies coming together to walk through the night in support of the hospice, sold out within two months of registration opening.
Jess Goodwin, the hospice’s Events Co-ordinator, is delighted with the response the event has had from the local community.
She said: “We want to say a huge thank you to all the hundreds of ladies who have signed up to take part in this year’s Wild West-themed Sleep Walk for their support.
“We organised early bird discount codes to encourage people to sign up as soon as possible, but places have been filled before they’ve even had chance to expire!
“We now can’t wait to see everybody come together to support the hospice on Saturday 11 July.”
Last year The Sleep Walk raised £181,000 to help support the vital care Rowcroft provides for more than 2200 people living with life-limiting illnesses ever year.
Organisers are hoping to raise even more from this year’s event, with a fundraising target of £200,000.
Jess added: “More than 70% of our funding comes from the local community so our fundraising events are of huge importance to us. Every pound those who walk can raise in sponsorship for us will be well earned, and gratefully received!”
A number of volunteering opportunities are also available to those who would still like to be a part of The Sleep Walk.
Jess added: “Our volunteers are integral to the success of The Sleep Walk and also to the atmosphere on the night! We still have lots of opportunities available for men and women. If you’d like more information please visit www.rowcroftsleepwalk.org.uk.”
