Rowcroft Totnes shop plans Sunday opening
12 October 2016
Rowcroft Hospice’s High Street shop in Totnes has announced it will be opening on Sundays once a month to tie in with the Totnes Good Food Sunday Market.
Starting this Sunday 16 October the shop will be opening from 11am – 3pm selling an array of ladies and men’s clothing, children’s toys and clothes, books, bric-a-brac and DVDs.
Shop Manager, Nicola Shellard, is looking forward to trialling the new opening hours: “Opening on a Sunday is new for us so we’d like to encourage all those attending the town’s monthly food market to pop in to the shop to support us.
“Every penny spent in store will help local people living with life-limiting illnesses to share precious time with family and friends.”
The shop’s increased opening hours are one of a series of efforts Rowcroft has recently made to increase income in response to a funding shortfall.
Caroline Wannell, Head of Retail at Rowcroft Hospice, said: “Rowcroft’s shops generate a huge amount of money to support local families who need the hospice’s support, and we are always looking for ways to grow income.
“Our Totnes shop has performed incredibly well since it was refurbished in 2015 and we hope that by extending its opening hours we will give more customers the chance to browse and buy our selection of quality second hand items.
“Every pound spent in store makes a huge difference to Rowcroft and to local people and families.”
The shop will be trialling the once-a-month Sunday opening hours until Christmas, and also plans to open for Totnes’s Christmas Market and late night shopping on Tuesday the 6th, 13th and 20th December.
Nicola added: “Since its refurbishment the shop has become a destination for many shoppers looking for classic pieces at more affordable prices; we recently sold a second-hand Burberry coat, but we also have a large selection of lower cost items and a £1 rail.
“In the lead up to Christmas we will also have a selection of unique gift ideas that you won’t find anywhere else on the high street!”
