Rowcroft shop opens in new Brixham location

11 December 2015

Rowcroft is celebrating the opening of its new Brixham shop in a prime town centre location.

The shop, which was previously located in Union Lane, opened in 19-21 Fore Street on Saturday 5 December.

The new premises, formerly a bank, have undergone careful renovation, with the old bank’s vault turned into a dedicated book room.

Caroline Wannell, Associate Director of Retail at Rowcroft Hospice, explained: “The new shop is three times the size of our previous premises in Brixham, which means there is a lot more potential for income generation.

“We are delighted with the new site and look forward to welcoming old and new customers over the Christmas period and into 2016.”

The decision was made to leave the shop’s old site after 19 years because it was in need of refurbishment and essential maintenance to an existing flat roof.

Caroline added: “The decision was made to spend the money needed for refurbishment and maintenance on new premises with a much stronger high street presence.

“We hope that by doing so we will be able to increase sales revenue to support more local patients with life-limiting illnesses, and their families, in South Devon to make the most of the time they have together.”

The new shop stocks a range of men’s and women’s clothing and accessories, bric-a-brac and a small selection of electrical items.
