Rowcroft Hospice opening bridal pop up shop in Newton Abbot

05 February 2015

Rowcroft Hospice is turning its Newton Abbot shop into a bridal emporium for one day only on Saturday 21 February.

The shop, which is located in Newton Abbot’s Bank Street, will be swapping all its normal stock for bridal gowns and outfits for the whole wedding party, including the groom and mother of the bride.

Amanda Grant, Retail Operations Manager at Rowcroft Hospice Shops, said: “Since opening our central Distribution Centre on Brunel Road last year we’ve realised just how many wedding dresses we have!

“We took a collection to the Wedding Fair at Newton Abbot Racecourse but have many more that we will be selling on 21 February.”

The shop will also be stocking a number of important wedding accessories, including shoes and veils.

Cheryl Pughe, Duty Manager for Rowcroft’s shops, said: “Getting married is so expensive these days that we often get customers popping into our shops and enquiring about our wedding range, especially with the current trend for a vintage theme. Buying vintage is good for your wallet, and also gives your wedding an authentic and unique look.”

The pop up shop will be open from 9.30am to 4.30pm, Cheryl added: “As every item in our pop up shop will be unique, we’d urge those who do want to browse our collection to visit early, as the only downside to a collection of one off items is that once it’s gone, it’s gone!”

Rowcroft has a total of 13 shops across South Devon, including two furniture outlets, a vintage store and newly opened Kids Corner in its Paignton Shop.

Profits from every item sold in Rowcroft Hospice’s shops go towards providing care for more than 2200 people with life-limiting illnesses throughout the year, both at Rowcroft Hospice’s grounds in Torquay, in the community and within peoples’ homes.
