Registration for the Colour Rush Teignmouth is now open

29 February 2016

Registration for The Colour Rush Teignmouth, Rowcroft Hospice’s powder paint-fuelled 5k, is now open.

Sign up online today using code RAINBOW16 to get an exclusive discount, guaranteeing your place for £20 instead of the usual £25 ticket price.

The hospice recently announced it would be holding two Colour Rush events in 2016, the first in Teignmouth on Saturday 7 May and the second in Paignton on Saturday 17 September.

Rowcroft is encouraging all those who’d like to take part in the Teignmouth Colour Rush to register as soon as possible, as places are expected to fill quickly.

Rowcroft’s Events Manager, Daniel Robson, said: “We are extremely excited to be taking The Colour Rush on tour to Teignmouth, but with only 1000 places available, we’re urging all those who want to take part to guarantee their place as soon as possible by signing up at www.thecolourrush.co.uk.

The Colour Rush invites participants to walk, run or even dance their way around 5km of beach while being covered in two tonnes of powder paint.

The Teignmouth event starts and finishes at The Den on Teignmouth seafront.

Once participants have completed the route, they’ll be invited to take part in Rowcroft’s legendary mass paint throw; with 1000 people and 1000 bags of paint, it’s guaranteed to be big, bright and colour-crazy!

Daniel added: “We’re pretty sure this is the most fun you’ll have completing a 5k, it’s not about finishing first, it’s about having a laugh with friends and seeing one of South Devon’s best-loved beaches transformed into a sea of colour!”

All those who sign up for The Colour Rush are encouraged to raise as much in sponsorship as possible to support local families living with life-limiting illnesses.

Daniel explained: “More than 70% of our funding comes from the local community. By signing up for The Colour Rush and supporting Rowcroft Hospice you’ll be an amazing part of helping families in South Devon who are living with life-limiting illnesses to share precious time together.”

Kezia Ruxton was able to get married in Rowcroft’s chapel in 2011. She said she will be forever grateful to Rowcroft’s staff and volunteers: “My husband and I were married at Rowcroft during the time my Mum was a patient. It was a wonderful day, joyful and sunny. We felt, and still feel, lucky to have made our vows there, in front of our closest family."
