Those interested in taking part in the one-off Colour Road Rush have until Tuesday 28th July at 5pm to register.

Linden Homes and Galliford Try are inviting people to take part in the unique three kilometre paint run on the brand new South Devon Link Road, to raise money for local charity, Rowcroft Hospice.

On Saturday 1st August entrants will be able to walk or run on part of the new dual carriageway, while being sprayed with washable paint at designated paint stations.

The non-competitive event is open to everyone aged 13 and over but, with just 1,000 spaces available, anyone interested in taking part is encouraged to register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Nigel Palmer, managing director for Linden Homes South West, said: “With just a few days left to register it really is time to make your mark and sign up to this very special event. Linden Homes is part of the Galliford Try Group and we contribute a huge amount to the area, in terms of homes and infrastructure; we’re delighted to be celebrating the work in such a colourful way - raising much needed funds for a very worthwhile charity.”

Giles Charnaud, chief executive of Rowcroft Hospice said: “I am delighted Rowcroft Hospice is working with Linden Homes and Galliford Try to stage this event on the new link road.

“The road has been awaited for many decades and to be part of celebrating its imminent opening is a fabulous opportunity. We want to join with our community of South Devon, to live life in full colour, to place our mark on something remarkable and to say ‘I was there and it was colourful and memorable’.”

Galliford Try executive chairman Greg Fitzgerald added his support: “Being a South Devon local, Rowcroft Hospice is a charity close to my heart. It’s great we can provide such a unique venue for this exciting event. So I would urge everybody to register to enter and put a bit of colour in your life!”

All funds raised from the event will help Rowcroft to continue providing its vital care across South Devon. Entry is free if you sign up to a £5 monthly regular gift for the hospice. Alternatively you can raise sponsorship for Rowcroft and agree to pay a £20 entry fee to cover the costs of putting on the event.
