Volunteer vacancies

We have many opportunities for people who would like to support our work through volunteering. If you are over 16, a student, or have a few spare hours a week, we would be delighted to hear from you.

People give their time to help in a variety of differant ways - whether that's by answering the phone, greeting visitors, undertaking training to become part of our bereavement support team or offering their professional skills on a voluntary basis for a few hours a week.

Although volunteers are not paid, they are a key part of the team. When someone enquires about volunteering they are invited to the hospice to discuss the differant options available to them, they will recieve an induction, ongoing support and training.

To find out more about volunteering at Rowcroft please contact Helen on (01803) 217642.

'My Story' Volunteer vacancies

‘My Story’ provides an opportunity for people to tell their ‘story’ through reflection, recollection and reminiscence.

This multi-faceted activity can be linked with all the other creative elements of Day Services, such as art, craft or music, and can also utilise mediums of film and audio.

The project is supported by a team of specialist volunteers. We are keen to increase our numbers of volunteers for this increasingly popular element of Day Services.

Well developed communication skills, the ability to listen and enable the construction of a personal record or account are key requirements.

For information and to arrange an introduction please contact Nigel Hinks, Day Services Manager on 01803 217640/210820.
