Rowcroft Hospice is dedicated to providing high quality care to people living with life threatening illnesses in Torbay and South Devon, as well as supporting their families and carers. This vital service costs over £5.1 million each year, of which £4.3 million has to be raised in charitable funds. 
 
This new role, based within the Fundraising team, will raise funds from grant-making bodies by undertaking extensive research and preparing and submitting applications to achieve annual targets. 
 
You will be a persuasive communicator and a master of the written word. Possessing exceptional research skills, you must be highly organised and work well under your own initiative. 
 
A track record of report writing, understanding and interpreting complex information and working to and meeting targets is essential. 
 
With experience of applying to large and small Trusts and other Grant Givers, you will be able to demonstrate the significant contribution that you can make to our fundraising income.

Rowcroft Hospice Community Specialist Palliative Care Team are looking to recruit a part-time secretary as part of a job-share arrangement, with flexibility to work additional hours to cover annual leave and sickness. The post holder will be responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support to a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Community Specialist Palliative Care Nurses, Occupational Therapists, and Social Workers. 
 
Applicants will have demonstrable previous experience, excellent communication skills and telephone manner, with the ability to cope with sensitive issues. Knowledge of medical terminology would be advantageous but is not essential.

Along with a sensitive and considerate approach the post holder will be flexible and take an active role in developing and supporting relationships with our donors. In addition to using the Microsoft Office suite, you will use our Donorflex database, so IT skills are essential.

This is an interesting and varied post, requiring a well-motivated and flexible individual with exceptional communication skills and organisational ability. You must have experience working at a senior secretary/PA level, and have excellent IT skills.
