Primary Schools

Would your pupils like to be Rowcroft Hospice Heroes? We’re looking for heroes to support and fundraise for the hospice and we’re hoping that your school can help!

Rowcroft’s Hospice Hero is a brand new and exciting campaign which is particularly aimed at Primary Schools. We would like the opportunity to attend one of your school assemblies and give a 10-15 minute talk about Rowcroft Hospice, in an interactive and creative way which will help develop an understanding of our work. The talk focuses mainly on ‘who’ works at Rowcroft, what we do and the number of services that we provide within South Devon.

As a follow up to the talks we ask that your pupils consider taking part in a fundraising activity, such as a mufti day, colouring competition or a school disco. Whilst being lots of fun, and spreading awareness of Rowcroft Hospice’s work, funds raised from these activities will help us to continue to care for patients with progressive, life-limiting illnesses and support their loved ones and families.

If you feel that your school is unable to commit to a fundraising activity, but feel that your pupils would like to know more about the hospice, we still want to hear from you!

Please contact Hayley Norrish on 01803 210846 for more information or to arrange a Hospice Hero presentation.

Secondary Schools and Colleges

It’s amazing how motivated young people are at raising money for a cause they believe in! We have had the most incredible support from local schools and colleges, who have managed to donate a significant amount of money through simple and effective ideas such as cake sales, dance performances or even completing the Torbay Half Marathon!

We also value developing good relationships with young people as it helps us to raise awareness of our work. We are happy to give talks on our work, and can arrange visits to the hospice. Our talks and presentations which include a DVD on Rowcroft can be tailored to any age group, or can be given in any format such as classes, seminars or assemblies.

Rowcroft Hospice would love to hear from your school or college if you are interested in supporting us in some way. Please do get in touch and speak to Laura Cameron on 01803 210846.
