Schools and colleges

Many local schools and colleges in South Devon fundraise for the hospice and every contribution we receive makes a real difference. This helps us to continue providing the highest standard of care to the local community. We value the relationships we have with pupils, as it gives us the opportunity to inform young people of all ages about the important work we do. We are immensely proud of the support we receive and we are constantly looking to build relationships with those we haven't worked with before. We work with schools and colleges in two ways:

Education
We are keen to visit schools and colleges to talk about the work we do and we are also happy to arrange for children and students to visit the hospice. We can tailor our presentations to any age group, from infants, sixth formers to mature students. We can use any format including class seminars, study groups and assemblies.

Hospice Education Resource Pack and CD Rom
The hospice movement has produced an education pack for schools teaching the Citizenship Curriculum for 11 to 14 year olds. This pack is available to schools free of charge by telephoning Help the Hospices on 020 7520 8220. If you request a pack, please contact us to discuss how we can support on its delivery.

Fundraising

The money raised from schools and colleges through fundraising events and initiatives provides an important and substantial source of our annual income.

We find the people with the best fundraising ideas are the kids, but here are just a few ideas of how to get involved to get you started...
