Make a donation

15 - 19 May 2017

Making a Will ensures that your family’s future is secure and that your wishes will be followed through. But just over a third of people in the UK currently have a Will and of those who do, half have never updated it.

The aim of Make a Will Week is to help you make or update your Will while supporting Rowcroft Hospice.

How Make a Will Week works

For one week only, local participating solicitors waive their entire fee for Will-making in return for a donation to the hospice. The suggested donations are £150 for a single Will and £200 for a mirror Will which will go directly to Rowcroft. For Wills requiring specialist advice, a fee can be agreed in advance.

By making or updating your Will during Make a Will Week you’ll be helping families in South Devon who are living with life-limiting illnesses to make the most of every moment they have together. Though there is no obligation to do so, you will also have the opportunity to leave a gift to Rowcroft in your Will.

Your Donation and Gifts

Participating solicitors waive their fee for Will-making but request a donation to the hospice, helping to make every day the best day possible for 2000 patients every year. Your donation will provide care and support in patients’ homes, the community and at the hospice’s Inpatient Unit in Torquay.

While making or updating your Will, you might also choose to leave a gift to Rowcroft. Although our specialist care is provided free of charge, it is not free to provide, in fact 75% is provided by donations and gifts in Wills. No matter how large or small your gift, it will make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives.

There are various ways you can remember Rowcroft in your Will

A Residuary Gift - Once your family has been cared for and debts and expenses paid you may consider leaving part of your estate to Rowcroft e.g. 1% of the residue of your estate.

Pecuniary Gift - A fixed gift of money e.g. £1,000.

A Specific Gift - This can be anything from clothing, furniture or a piece of jewellery.

To support Make A Will Week call one of the participating Solicitors for an appointment and mention ‘Rowcroft's Make a Will Week’.

We understand that adding Rowcroft to your Will is a significant decision and therefore would be delighted to arrange a visit to the hospice for you to see for yourself the work that goes on at the hospice, or offer you the opportunity to discuss your thoughts and questions with our Legacy Officer.
