We believe that everyone facing a life-limiting illness should have access to the highest quality care, which is tailored to their needs and aimed at giving them the best possible quality of life.
Leaving a Legacy for the people
of Torbay and South Devon

Without legacies -
we'd only be able to do half as much

Donations left in Wills are vital to us. They fund the care of 50% of our patients.

Over the years, the hospice has received gifts from £250 to an amazing £1 million! Every gift is greatly valued by Rowcroft, and it is the source of income that has transformed the hospice from a small ward to a service that cares for over 1,000 people each year.

Worryingly, Rowcroft is experiencing a decline in legacy income. We are now concentrating on keeping the doors open, and safeguarding the hospice's future. Please help us to protect and maintain the hospice's services by including a gift to Rowcroft in your Will.

Some examples of how a gift in your Will would help.

£500 would buy an intravenous trolley, used by the ward for taking blood.

£850 would buy a syringe driver, to continuously administer painkillers, medication to suppress nausea and other drugs.

£1,000 would buy a complementary therapy couch, used to provide treatments such as reflexology or aromatherapy massage. patients tell us these treatments are hugely beneficial.

It is worth noting that it can cost as little as £100 for a commode chair, helping patients with mobility problems but as much as £10,000 for a new bed on the ward.

Leaving Rowcroft a legacy will help make sure we can care fr people with terminal illnesses for many years to come.

Support Rowcroft when making your Will, at no cost to you

The solicitors firms listed below have all offered to donate 25% of their fee to Rowcroft whenever they make a Will, for hospice supporters.

The nine firms taking part are:-

Somerville & Savage, Alderbourne, St Marychurch, Torquay, TQ1 4NJ. Telephone - 01803 312700

The Will-making scheme is very simple and involves no paperwork; the solicitor will raise an invoice for 75% of the fee plus VAT, and you will be asked to write a cheque in favour of Rowcroft for the remaining 25%, excluding VAT. The cheque is then sent to Rowcroft. No personal details or details about your Will are given to the hospice, unless you wish to receive the hospice's bi-annual newsletter, in which case only your name and postal address will be forwarded.

For more information about the will-making scheme please contact any of the participating firms directly to set up an appointment to make a Will.

Donations instead of flowers

If you would like to request donations to Rowcroft instead of flowers at your funeral, you can make your Executors aware of your wishes in your Will.
