Legacy income is a vital source of income for Rowcroft, enabling us to fund our services today, and plan with confidence for tomorrow. Thanks to the generosity of past legacies, we have been able to develop services such as our on-site Lymphoedema clinic and home support service, Rowcroft Hospice's community based support for patients who wish to die at home. 

 

 

Making a Will 

 

A properly executed Will ensures your loved ones are provided for, instead of your assets going elsewhere or to the State. Your requests will be carried out making arrangements easier on your family and friends. 

 

Once your loved ones have been provided for, you may find you are able to leave a gift to Rowcroft Hospice. A gift of any amount, no matter how small, would be very much appreciated and will help us continue our work. 

How to remember Rowcroft Hospice in your Will 

 

It is simple to leave a gift to Rowcroft, either in a new or existing Will. 

 

As a charity, we are exempt from Capital Gains Tax and charitable bequests are not subject to Inheritance Tax, so any gift to Rowcroft Hospice would be realised in full. 

 

There are various ways you can remember Rowcroft in your Will; a pecuniary legacy refers to a fixed gift of money, a residuary legacy means Rowcroft would receive the residue of your estate once any debts, expenses, specific gifts and taxes have been paid. Alternatively, you can make a gift of a specific item to Rowcroft, eg a piece of jewellery or furniture.

To either make or amend a Will, it's a good idea to make an appointment with a solicitor or professional adviser. The cost of having your Will drawn up professionally is minimal when compared to the costs to your loved ones if your wishes are misinterpreted - which is always a risk if you draw up your own Will.
