Holistic Care

Holistic care Living with a life-limiting illness can be a daunting experience. The patients in our care do not only experience the physical effects of their condition. Money worries, spiritual concerns, mental stress, a decrease in self-confidence, worries about loved ones, can also be experienced. Rowcroft’s approach is to provide holistic care; for the person’s mental, social, psychological, emotional needs as well as their physical ones. This care is extended to the patient’s carers and family.

Rowcroft’s holistic approach might involve, for example, using reflexology to minimise the discomfort of having bandages changed or music therapy to express difficult to communicate feelings. This is in addition to the more established services such as spiritual support from Rowcroft’s chaplain or physiotherapy to maintaining mobility and strength.
