People do amazing things for Rowcroft

Our fundraisers go to extraordinary lengths to support Rowcroft Hospice. Here are just a few of the remarkable challenges being undertaken for Rowcroft this year.

Shark Bait Challenge

On Saturday 23rd August 2008, Aaron Kitts and Matt Newbury will be taking part in the world famous Alcatraz Challenge Aqauthon.

They will attempt to swim from Alcatraz (AKA ‘The Rock’) and through the frigid and shark infested waters of San Francisco Bay to the mainland. But that’s just the first part, they are then going to do a seven mile run across the Golden Gate Bridge to ensure our Escape from Alcatraz is a complete success!

In its 29 years as an infamous maximum-security prison, no one escaped alive from the menacing shores of Alcatraz, although to this day there are five prisoners “missing, presumed drowned”.

100% off the sponsorship raised will go directly to Rowcroft Hospice. To support Matt and Aaron in this amazing challenge please visit their Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/sharkbaitchallenge
