Caring for families and carers
Rowcroft’s care does not stop with the patients; it is extended to
loved ones and families. From making sure they have a cup of tea during
visits, enabling the family pet to come for a visit, and the most
precious: giving time together – day and night - in an environment that
tries to be as homely as it possibly can be.
The care for families and loved ones is continued after
a person has passed away, and various professionals such as social
workers, music therapist and complementary therapists are available to
provide support, as is Rowcroft’s bereavement team.
Rowcroft also offers support to carers, and is well
aware of the stresses and difficulties faced when caring for a person
with a life-limiting illness. The hospice does as much as possible to
alleviate these stresses and runs groups for carers of specific
conditions and also more general groups offering relaxation skills,
support and advice.
